About the D&D Dice Roller

This free online dice roller is designed for Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition and other tabletop RPGs that use polyhedral dice. It supports all standard dice types: d4, d6, d8, d10, d12, d20, and d100 (percentile).

How to Use the Dice Roller

Click any die button for a quick roll, or type a dice expression in the custom roll field. Dice expressions use standard notation: the number of dice, followed by "d", followed by the die type, with an optional modifier. For example, "2d6+3" rolls two six-sided dice and adds 3 to the total.

Advantage and Disadvantage

In D&D 5e, advantage means you roll a d20 twice and take the higher result, while disadvantage means you roll twice and take the lower result. Use the toggle buttons to switch between Normal, Advantage, and Disadvantage mode for your d20 rolls.

Dice Notation Guide

  • 1d20 - Roll one twenty-sided die
  • 2d6+3 - Roll two six-sided dice and add 3
  • 4d6 - Roll four six-sided dice (great for ability scores)
  • 8d6 - Roll eight six-sided dice (Fireball damage)
  • 1d100 - Roll percentile dice
  • 3d8-2 - Roll three eight-sided dice and subtract 2
